Our team works in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. It is made up of a board of directors that guides the strategic work of the Foundation, a team of people who contribute with their talents and abilities, and a council of young people who have participated in our programs.

Oscar Contreras-Villarroel
Oscar is Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Ciencia Joven Foundation. He is a professional specialized in public affairs, sustainability, and the management / leadership of philanthropic and corporate foundations with a focus on technology, science, conservation, and innovation, with experiences in Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay. +10 years of experience in philanthropy, development of global alliances, fundraising, grant making and project management.

Alejandra Bonati
Journalist from Andrés Bello University. Alejandra started at Google in 2011, in her role as Communications and Public Affairs Manager for the local office, she oversees the company's communications strategy in Chile. She currently boosts projects that promote the incorporation of inclusive actions, leading the Incluchannel project, Google's YouTube channel created collaboratively with people with disabilities to break down barriers and stimulate cultural changes on the subject. Alejandra has been part of the Ciencia Joven Directory since 2018.

Marjorie Parra Lepe
Marjorie is the director and co-founder of Ciencia Joven. She has a master's degree in university teaching, a diploma in biostatistics and educational management, and worked as a BioBecas intern. She is a professor and graduate in Biology. She worked in schools and high schools in the Valparaíso region, in the classroom, management and science academies, leading scientific teams and promoting scientific research spaces. She is also a university professor, focused on biology in careers of health, education, and psychology. Marjorie co-founded Ciencia Joven with the interest of promoting the formation of young leaders in STEM areas in Latin America. She obtained the EduCiencias Abate Molina Award.

Ariel Contreras
Master’s in Strategic Design, Designer specialized in Products. He has a strong background in design thinking and planning, project management and administration, and product development. He is a professional capable of leading, designing, supervising, and efficiently managing processes, products, and services, especially designing experiences and implementing digital projects focused on the consumer. He is Data Product Manager at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Ariel has been part of the Ciencia Joven Board since 2011.

Andrea Obaid
Andrea Obaid is a journalist and has a degree in Social Communication from the Diego Portales University of Chile and a Master's in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University, in Barcelona, Spain. She is director of Neurona Group, member of the Chilean Association of Scientific Journalists (Achipec), member of the World Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ). She is currently a trend columnist for CARAS magazine. Andrea has been part of the Ciencia Joven Directory since 2014.

Eduardo Guzmán Lazón
He is an agronomist, master in Natural Resources. He arrived to the Foundation in 2011 and has served as the Bayer Kimlu Science Camp coordinator, director of programs and operations, executive director and, currently, as director in Chile. He stands out for being very organized and a good leader.
Director Argentina and Uruguay
Elizabeth Haug
She is a forestry engineer. She came to the foundation in 2018 and has served as a tutor and assistant for the Ciencia Joven Academies program and, currently, as Director in Argentina and Uruguay. She is known for being organized and responsible.
Management and Finance Director
Oscar Pizarro Acosta
He is an administration engineer with a major in finance. He came to the foundation in 2016 and has served as Chief Financial Officer and currently Chief Financial Officer. He stands out for being faithful and encouraging.
Communications Manager
Tania Libertad
She is a publicist, communicator with a gender perspective and a diploma in communication and Human Rights. She came to the foundation in 2020 and has worked as head of Communications. She is known for being cool and very engaged.
Chile Program Coordinator
Pamela Fuentes Fuentes
She is a marine biologist. She came to the foundation in 2012 and has worked as a tutor for the Bayer Kimlu Science Camp, coordinator of the Nuestro Oceano scientific camps and Bayer Kimlu, tutor of the Ciencia Joven Academies, Coordinator of the Ciencia Joven Academies and, currently, as head of the Ciencia Joven Academies programs. She stands out for being decisive and guiding.

Jorge Mancilla Valdés
He is a civil engineer in biotechnology. He came to the foundation in 2020 and has worked as coordinator of the Ciencia Joven Academies and the Ciencia Joven at Home Academy. He is recognized for being adaptable and committed.
