Ciencia Joven Academies
Comprehensive intervention program that seeks to transform vulnerable educational communities through STEM education in Chile and Argentina.
Through an annual after-school workshop led by a leading teacher from each school where students ages 12 to 18 with an interest in STEM areas participate and develop STEM and leadership skills.
With the support of a tutor, each team of students carries out a scientific, engineer or entrepreneurship research project, under Problem-Based / Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodologies, which seeks to solve problems in their context.
In parallel, we develop teacher improvement through training and weekly feedback sessions with the tutor, acquiring new tools to improve current pedagogical practices, becoming leaders within their educational communities.
This program has a final STEM exhibition, where students present their project’s results, impacting their communities.
Program on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
